Swiss/Italian artist, and designer.
Mirella was born in Bern. After her studies in Switzerland, she moved to Italy where she still lives and works.
While working as cultural manager in Italy and Switzerland, she developed her own artistic expressions in different media.
In the early '90 she met her future husband, Casimiro Mondino (fine art photographer, artist and designer) with whom she started working applying her artistic skill in their own design studio near Milan.
As a designer she has been creating some of the most successful fine fragrance lines for renowned italian fashion designer brands as well as products for Italian Design factories.
As an artist she has explored mainly digital art, photography and painting.
The techniques she employs in her work are a recipe of life experiences and influences of the many cultures she was able to explore during her long journeys and stays around the world.
In some of her works, she merges photography with manual and digital interventions to underline unexpected details. Her particular experimental point of view brings to surface intimate and sometimes unconscious visions - reality seen as a continuous exploration.
